My name is Maria and I’m the designer behind LALU Patterns -- a size-inclusive, independent sewing pattern company. LALU Patterns are designed for sewists on the move who need comfort, style, ease, and of course...fashion. My designs are inspired by color, long walks down dark gritty city streets, sitting on the stoop eating a hot dog, meeting friends for dinner, running errands around town, and touring new countries across the world. I want you to wear sensible shoes, look good, and get out there and explore.

I grew up in Queens, NY and am definitely a city girl at heart. I believe you can wear a stylish pair of sneakers with just about anything and to just about anywhere. I started sewing my clothes because the daily grind was getting to me and I needed to create. I started LALU Patterns because I felt like there was room in the sewing community for more 40-something PDF womens sewing patterns designers. I love this diverse, inclusive, loving sewing community and I hope my patterns will inspire sewists and make them smile!
