What does Sewn With Grit mean?
Grit is my Australian Cattle Dog. We adopted him in 2022 and he has been my faithful sewing companion since then. Grit hasn’t always lived the good life, and though he is now pampered constantly, he still has his own struggles just like the rest of us, as he is a sensitive soul. But he lives up to his name and always does his best with his strong spirit and big heart. Grit has taught me that done is better than perfect (perfect doesn’t exist), and that even when things are challenging, there is still fun to be had and mayhem to cause. Sewing is the craft I always come back to, for as long as I can remember, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. It’s important to me to push myself to learn more, build new skills, and sew things I love as an act of care for myself.
 

Sewn With Grit Patterns will embody the qualities of perseverance, strength, and courage. My goal is for the patterns to be as gritty as the people who sew them. These are garments that are made with techniques and finishes meant to last as well as styles that will withstand the test of time. I want you to feel confident enough in my designs for date night, and comfortable enough to play fetch with your dog or pick the weeds from your garden. Clothes are meant to be worn!
